Coming straight off the back of their late January Change EP, Toronto’s ever efficient Shipley Hollow return with another three track banger.
Eating The Entertainment is the trio’s second effort, and listeners can expect all the beloved math rock delicacies: angular riffs, weird meters, noodling, and unusual stop/start punctuation. But the album also offers a calm, emotional undertone, with soothing vocals and lighter instrumental passages. For those looking for a decent musical hike, Eating The Entertainment is a delightful trail mix of post-hardcore, indie, alternative and math rock, and features beautiful album artwork by Alain Rocha.
A promising return from a promising trio.
