As well as being lauded masters of beefy riffs, Memory of Elephants write songs that are to the point. The Bristol trio is not one to dawdle, dilly-dally or beat around the bush with unnecessary interludes and musical platitudes; each track on their previous effort Faux Carrion was delivered with a sense of urgency, short and sharp cuts of math rock that were punchy and powerful. And every so often they’ll pull out a Mogwai cover, the loud ones of course.

So don’t be surprised when you find that their newest track ‘Scrapsuit Mafia’ clocks in at just over 1 minute. A fresh cut from the band’s upcoming show-stopper Beachballin’ (which we have earmarked already as a 2019 anticipated release), ‘Scrapsuit Mafia’ sees the band at their most creative, with some wildly off-kilter guitar chops and meter-bending percussion. Fans of Cleft, That Fucking Tank and Alpha Male Tea Party will not be disappointed.

Memory of Elephants’ debut album Beachballin’ will be out this Spring. Keep up to date with them on Facebook.
