These are strange times. Strange times indeed. But music is the perfect antidepressant for times like these. It helps us face the circumstances and overcome all difficulties.
The COVID-19 bonanza left us with plenty of time for ourselves, and Wanderlust had to make the best of the worst.
After a having appeared in several festivals and gigs in all Peru and Chile, and releasing the ‘Revixerit’ and ‘Naufragio’ LPs, Wanderlust have become a reference point inside Peru’s indie scene, and they are getting ready for more to come.
We’re proud to premiere the Peruvian band’s quarantine-inspired new single ‘Calle Fantasma’, a neat track with a structure that has you abruptly dancing since it starts. Tearing lyrics, steady rhythm and bursts of energy: all you need to get by during this contingency.
Mauricio Torres, guitarist and frontman explains that ‘Calle Fantasma’ ‘is a song made to have people dancing in the dark of the current events. We got inspired by the emptiness of the streets and the war environment that can be felt during the quarantine’.
You can listen to ‘Calle Fantasma’ on our website, and, if you want to soothe your coronavirus anguish, you can go to Wanderlust’s Bandcamp here.
