Colin Phils have racked up more frequent flyer points than the average math rock band, having formed in South Korea whilst the members were English teachers, then migrating to China and releasing their album e, r, som, sa, and then returning to their native US shores to release their Star Charts split with fellow Richmond rockers Houdan the Mystic. Ironically, their 2014 debut was titled Right at Home.
This week we find Colin Phils in fine form, strutting with their newest single ‘Frenemies’ off the upcoming Trust/Fall, replete with twangy staccato guitar loops, soothing vocal harmonies and luscious textures. Fans of Delta Sleep, Enemies and Colour will not be disappointed with this gorgeous surge of interwoven math rock and indie. Math rock’s great jetsetters are back in full form.
Colin Phils’ upcoming album ‘Trust/Fall’ will be released via Post Recordings later in the year. Keep up to date with Colin Phils on their Facebook page
