Finally. The Fecking Bahamas End Of Year Results can finally be announced. We received over 5000 votes from across the world, from Moscow all the way to Brazil. We hope that, once again, our list represents a geographically un-biased sample set of the math favourites of 2014. Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for their favourite releases; it’s been a momentous year for music, and picking a solid 5 from a shortlist of over 120 albums was bound to be bloody hard.
Before we start, a word of advice. No doubt many of you noticed that the polls remained open once you cast your vote. In other words, there was no limit on how many times you could vote… to an extent. You see, our poll code also contained an algorithm that capped the amount of votes that could be made by any ISP address (5 max), but also notified us when any ISP was voting more than 5 times. It turned out that, indeed, there were quite a few instances where people attempted to rig this poll. One person, in fact, voted a total of 471 times; either a member of one of the shortlisted bands or an obsessed and slightly deranged fan. Nevertheless, we’re sorry to say that if you did vote over 5 times, your votes weren’t recorded and your attempt to skew our results were a waste of time. Luv u.
