Take a moment to reflect back on the UK scene five years ago. Small Pond was flexing their muscles as a label people needed to know about. Musical Mathematics was still very much in its prime. Delta Sleep were local favourites, not quite yet an international math rock phenomenon. Those times were, as Barbara Streisand once sang ‘misty water-colored memories of the way we were‘.
It was at this time that Small Pond, Bad Math and Musical Mathematics joined forces to create Bad Pond, Brighton’s first math and post rock festival. It’s a festival that retains its strength in Brighton, despite two thirds of the partnership moving to new parts of life. Small Pond keeps this fire very much alive in Brighton, and now they’re taking it to the next level.
That’s right, a special London version of the Bad Pond festival will be premiering on October 20th. Headlining Bad Pond London will be instrumental prog stalwarts The Physics House Band whose recent offering Death Sequence soars above and beyond their 2017 magnum opus Mercury Fountain. There many more acts to be announced, so be sure to stay well tuned.
Tickets for Band Pond London are on sale from this Friday the 21st of June via https://www.seetickets.com/tour/badpond-festival-london. Also hit up the Facebook page to get updates on the lineup and other grandness.
