Ands is the new band from William Covert and Sam Edgin of Space Blood. After taking a year to figure out their new project after retiring their masks as the Malort drenched bass and drums math rock duo, they have returned with the quartet Ands. Joining Covert and Edgin are Dustin Currier (The Felix Culpa and Cut Teeth) and Kortland Chase (Pink Avalanche) with both Currier and Chase playing guitar and doing double vocals.
Here is the premiere of their debut video for “Unheroic Doses” that was filmed at Jamdek Studio as part of a Puddle Splashers in-studio session. The music of Ands is influenced by post-hardcore and angular math rock found on records put out by Dischord and Touch and Go Records including bands such as Fugazi, Shellac, Faraquet, Jawbox, as well as contemporary math rock influences such as Foals and Town Portal.
The band is wasting no time with their introduction and will be embarking on their Midwest tour this spring, and be releasing a couple more live session videos come out from Puddle Splashers in the coming months. You can find Ands on all the regular social media channels to follow them and see what they put out next.
