It is with extreme condolences that we must break the shit news that 100 One Says no more.
After traversing the globe together as a rambunctious math rock duo, Barret and Richard of 100 Onces will part ways. A band who have never shied away from playing naked, surfing crowds, and producing albums with a fuck all attitude, 100 Onces will end the game after almost five years. We have no doubt in our minds that the boys have racked up a ton of experiences together, not least from their most recent Russian tour, which proved to be perhaps a little too gnarly at times.
“It’s a mutual hiatus of sorts,” explains drummer Richard, “there’s a possibility of us coming back in the future but for now we feel we’ve made our mark. Quite honestly, we’re a bit burnt out.”
100 Onces albums have always gone down a treat with our readers. In 2011 the band released their first full length release 100 Once Is, followed by the 2013 sophomore 100 One Says. Only a year later the band took out the number 1 place on our End Of Year Report with their self-titled 100 Onces.
I’m sure I speak for many of us in the Fecking Bahamas team when I say that 100 Onces will be sorely missed. We wish them all the best with their future endeavours.
100 Onces will play their last set on December 13 at the Wake Up San Fernando Valley Festival in Van Nuys, California. You can find more info here.
