Well gather ’round young children, because it finally happened – a solid 14 years after we narrowly avoided a grand theft auto attempt in order to catch the band at the 2010 Warped Tour, we finally got the chance to sit down with Closure in Moscow to pick their brains about… well, pretty much everything.
In fact, the band is about to embark on another tour of the United States at the end of this month in support of Soft Hell, and we’re finally gonna catch them in Salt Lake City. We don’t even have to threaten to steal anyone’s car this time – we’ve got our own. We’re adults now.
Actually, we did manage to see the boys live Portland a few years back with Protest the Hero and Thank You Scientist. It was a magical experience – there’s always that ‘pinch me’ moment when you’re seeing a band that’s important to you for the first time, and it lasted the whole time Closure was on stage.
We’ll remember it forever, even if many of those memories are blurred from tears of joy… some may say it was the mushrooms, but we doubt it. Regardless, we are so proud to finally present this sweet little back and forth with vocalist Christopher DeCinque, guitarist Michael Barrett, and Fecking Bahamas – readers in the States, don’t forget to buy tickets here!

There’s two parts, so be sure to check them both out! You gotta love Zoom. Regardless, we had a hell of a time discussing things like teachers in cupboards, treating your craft like a full-time job, and conquering your demons in the rehearsal space, but that’s just scratching the surface. Here’s the second part for anyone looking to go all whole way:

It was an honor to dig a little deeper and get silly with Chris and Michael – big thanks to the guys for joining us, and thanks as well to Michael Solo from Bird’s Robe Records for linking us up!
