Fresh on our desks this week is Ireland’s Yonen, an instrumental four piece with a propensity for drawn out syncopated riffs interladen with rhythmic quirks. Today, they premiere their new track ‘Nuatum’, a slender 7 minute epic transitioning between complex mixed meter riffs into calmer post rock flavours, like Ulysses fighting the minotaur and taking breathers in between. The track concludes with a groovy jazz section, much along the lines of bands like Suffer Like G Did. It’s a nice medley traversing variable altitudes. Dig into it, you beasts.
