Late last year, crazy Nordic loop rockers Aiming For Enrike exploded into mine and many other’s ears, the beastly warped grooves of the duo’s third LP, Las Napalmas, making waves across the wierdo rock community.
Masterminded by the combined forces of northern promoters MADE: PRESENTS and the infamous John Niblock of Black Sheep, the latest addition to the scene is the incredibly exciting Reckoner Festival, a Sheffield all-dayer in October, boasting a seriously, seriously immense lineup.
On their Bandcamp description Aiming for Enrike describe themselves as ‘genius’. Arrogant? Well, take a listen for yourself, and you might find that they’re just speaking frankly.
Aiming For Enrike first burst into our hearts with their incredible Rohdos Garage live sessions last year. Armed with a modest arsenal of guitar, drums and herd of pedals, the Norwegian act were forging sounds that combined melodic pop-hooks, looped fusion grooves and the oddball sonic textures of Battles and Adebisi Shank.
