The Robot and Me

NEW MUSIC // THE ROBOT AND ME RETURN WITH A BANGER JUST IN TIME FOR BEDTIME

Alright, who’s ready for a bedtime banger? Sorry, what? Excuse me? Where did you learn those words? Who taught you that? Well, you’re grounded and we’ll be speaking with their parents, rest assured – but for now yes, here’s a REAL and APPROPRIATE bedtime banger from The Robot and Me..

Every once in a while, The Robot and Me reminds us of their existence, and every time, we feel like we should be listening to them more. Last year’s hyper-specific, ultra-transportive Bike Songs dropped with zero warning, and subtly tease a looser, more carefree direction for the project that just felt right. Even robots need to chill.

But at the same time, you can tell that deep down in their circuitry there’s still quite a bit of care taken when it comes to crafting these songs, and “Sleep,” the single that just came out a couple of days ago, shows that it’s not going anywhere anytime soon.

Just when you think the song’s going to take a turn for the post-rock, it brings back those wistful, barely off-kilter noodles. That being said, there is a pretty satisfying fuzz-plosion towards the end with some cool melodies in the background. Sure, maybe it’s a bit high-octane for snoring, but “Sleep” is the perfect bedtime story for math rockers, post-rockers, instrumentalists, etc. It’ll just get stuck in your head first.
