LITR-Promo

Once upon a time I lived in Leeds. One of the first shows I went to was the 2014 StrangeForms Festival, put on by our now lovely pals in Bad Owl Presents. This band I didn’t know called Lost In The Riots were about to play, and I had to make a choice between seeing them or staying in the main bar to play foosball and scoring free Samual Smith stouts from some of our chums behind the bar. In the end I made the right decision. And I still scored the Samuel Smiths.

I’ve been consistently blown away by this band and the sonic landscapes they construct for the audience. So I was doubly surprised coming into their new single ‘I Was A Fucking Jet Engine’, which portrays a more jagged edge to the Riots sound. ‘I Was A Fucking Jet Engine’ is a fresh cut from the band’s highly anticipated third album Bonds and sees the band forgoing their post rock scaffolding for a sound that is punchy, heavy and dissonant. This is a side of the band you’ve never heard. Until now.

sketchshowLost In The Riot’s new album ‘Bonds’ will be out bloody soon. You best be checking in via their Bandcamp page for pre-orders and their back catalog.
