EXCLUSIVE // Giraffes? Giraffes! release video for ‘Hug of Death’ and announce US tour dates

Guitar and drums duo GIRAFFES? GIRAFFES! require no explanation on this site. They’ve taken the math rock, instrumental, and experimental rock realms by storm since 2005, and if you’re only now just hearing about them… how could you? How could you do that to yourself?

This week we are proud to be premiering the band’s latest music video for ‘Hug Of Death’, taken from their ground-breaking, wall-smashing, soup-simmering 2018 effort Memory Lame. This wonky and oddball video, produced by Lindsey Topham, is as nonsensical as the band’s vision. Death plays a lead role in the video, sending off poor souls towards the pearly gates via hugs, only to be turned upon by his victims in a show of last rites mutiny. The band can be seen intermittently throughout the video chomping down on pasta, nails, paperclips and… earthworms? In all, it’s well within the G?G! scope and requiring no attempt at explanation.

But that’s not all the good cheer of course. Prior to performing at niche rock’s holy Mecca ArcTanGent on August 16th, the band will be traversing the US to tantalise punters with delectable cuts from Memory Lame and the rest of their discography. You’d be a DRGNFKR for missing this one. Details are:
