Austin, TX’s Honey and Salt are set to release their self titled album on April 6th and are stoking appetites with a live in-studio recording of ‘A Nihilist Takes Up Knitting.’ A blend of math textures, punk aesthetic, and pop-inspired design, the new single has hooks to spare.
Filmed on the campus of UT Austin, the video captures the band’s signature live sound – a stylistic choice that remains an important motif, even in their studio recordings. At once complex and undeniably danceable, ‘A Nihilist Takes Up Knitting’ captures the essence of Honey and Salt; bursts of emotive lyricism, tightly wound passages, and catchy crescendos glowing like neon.
Honey and Salt’s new self titled album is out April 6th via Spartan Records. Catch them on this month’s Room Temperature Suite.
