If you haven’t heard the Bob Lazar story, well, it’s a lot. It could also be a whole lot of nothing, like everything, but in case you’re curious, here’s most of the story in a single sentence: Bob Lazar allegedly took part in the reverse-engineering of extraterrestrial craft.
There’s actually heaps of cool interviews and documentaries surrounding the guy, but today, we have a special addition to the meta-canon: The Bob Lazar Story.
The New Zealand prog and math rock band has been on our radar for a long time, but we’d actually missed a couple releases from them somehow. Ah, the symptoms of having over twenty thousand unread emails. Regardless, we’re stoked to share the raucous new single “Park Up and See the Manager” below:
“Park Up and See the Manager” builds from the band’s prog-y past no doubt, but it also seems like there’s more than enough growth to go around this time, where they’re almost taking new form altogether. The new song is unwieldy and wicked, somehow bringing to mind both Alpha Male Tea Party and Black Country, New Road as they clash thunderous guitars with transportive brass freakouts.
The band’s upcoming album, From Mouth to Ear is due this September, and we’d be remiss not to mention it’s exceptionally, um… high-quality artwork. Maybe Bob Lazar reverse engineered some kind of space chair, or conversely, our normal chairs are actually beamed down from ET’s? Who is to say, these days anything is possible, and the only thing that really makes sense is listening to bangers like “Park Up and See the Manager.”
