Just a couple of weeks ago, heavy heads were champing at the bit from “Paroxysm,” the sneak attack single from New York’s legendary Car Bomb. The explosive song’s title proved beyond apt, seeing the chaotic mathcore band pack everything fans could want from them in a tight but terrifying two minutes and fifty seconds.
With laser guitars, incomprehensible artwork, and crazy production on this thing to boot, our excitement for Tiles Whisper Dreams, the band’s first EP, was growing by the moment before our first round with the song was even over.

But in the corners of our mind, despite a hell of a lot going on in the world, lingering questions started to form – had it really been six years since the band released new music? How is it that they sound better than ever on the new single? How is this the band’s first EP? And what could Tiles Whisper Dreams even possibly mean?
While he wasn’t at liberty to discuss that last one, Greg Kubacki was kind enough to take some time to answer just about all the rest, not to mention a lot more, from the direction and production of the upcoming EP to their upcoming tour with Animals as Leaders and Imperial Triumphant. We also got into David Lynch, but you’ll have to stick around for the end for that one. Either way, we think you’ll enjoy it – check it out below:
