FOCUS // BACK FROM THE LAB PT.2: PAVLOV’S BELL PUSH THE SCIENCE ROCK ENVELOPE WITH PHYSICS ISN’T FAIR AND SHARE A LIVE TRACK-BY-TRACK ANALYSIS

These days, we probably don’t have to remind you – things move pretty fast in life, and they’re only moving faster. We often find ourselves saying things like “last week” or “a while ago” only to realize whatever we’re talking about was months ago, sometimes even over a year. Suffice it to say, time is a funny thing.

Pavlov’s Bell know this well – the science rock trio have heroically maintained course over a sea of insanity, from lineup changes and relocating for jobs to juggling gigs with other bands. Luckily, these guys are professionals, and a lot closer to being actual scientists than we are.

Their new EP, Physics Isn’t Fair, was released last Friday, and people are already getting their beakers and alembics out to measure the results, which is understandable. It’s an EP that foams, froths, and wriggles it’s way through your senses, and to help celebrate / hypothesize, we were elated to catch up with Tony, Frankie, and Santi once again to talk about each track, as they all have specialized functions.

If you haven’t done it yet, check out the EP here, (or if you’re looking for extra credit, see our other interview here) then kick it with us below as we discuss the inspiration for the EP’s title, the nature of nostalgia, electronic influences, and so much more.
