EXCLUSIVE // WILLIAM COVERT KEEPS VIEWERS ENTRANCED WITH VIBEY VIDEO FOR “TRANCERS”

Well wouldn’t you know it, our main man in Chicago is at it again with entrancing, math-y, post-everything solo material that defies categorization. It feels like it was only this year that Covert dropped Dream Void, and… wait, he did. That was only July.

Yet here we are, two months later, introducing another slab of William’s unhinged but always fascinating creations. Didn’t he also just put out a record with Space Blood? William, you animal! Today we’re teasing Dream Vessel, the appropriately surreal followup to Dream Void, with the music video for “Trancers.”

Check it out below:

It’s definitely got that signature, massively surreal, almost liminal vibe that Covert specializes in, and for us 5/4 is always a win. Here’s Will himself with a little more background on the song:

“”Trancers” is the lead single off of Dream Vessel, and the song features the William Covert Trio consisting of myself on drums, Jack McKevitt (ex-Split Tongue with Seb Alvarez of .meth) on guitar, and Nathan Schenck (Coma Regalia, Charmed Form) on bass. The song is based around a krautrock inspired drum groove in 5/4 interwoven with a meditative bass line and washed out acid surf guitar shimmering on top of the groove. The album is available for pre-orders on Bandcamp here.”
