EXCLUSIVE // LOSE YOUR LIMBS WITH ARMS AND THEIR GRISTLY NEW VIDEO FOR “SMALL DEATH”

You’ve heard of Florida man, but have you heard of Florida bands? Well, of course you have. From punk rock and nu-metal to death metal and mathcore, it’s a state whose bands rarely, if ever, cater to normality. Yet even in the face of this rich history and diverse roster, ARMS has always stood out.

Calling ARMS a mathcore unit almost sells them short – yes, there are absolutely pitched-out guitars, lacerative screams, and punishing non-linear passages, but there’s been a ton of variety along the way, coalescing a strong sense of identity beneath the chaos.

Their new single “Small Death” shows this off perfectly, homing in on a sense of sonic focus that borders on tech-death, but also in terms of narrative. It’s a great preview to what lies in wait on their new album I Wish You Were Down Here With Me, and we’re honored to premiere the Paul Hundeby directed video for it below:

Out December 4th, I Wish You Were Down Here With Me is the band’s first record since their 2018 split with Seizures, which we’re pretty sure is how we found out about ARMS in the first place.

In addition to tech-death flair, you can also hear surprise appearances from genres like math rock, post-punk, and post-hardcore. Speaking of appearances, ARMS’ upcoming record has some super exciting features from guests like Carson Pace from The Callous Daoboys, Jason Springman of Sawtooth Grin, Chad Kapper of Frontierer, and more.

That’s one hell of a roster, and more than any particular amount of star power what makes it special is that all those bands share a similar space to ARMS. Each of them incinerate barriers in their own way, so to see them all on one record is a pretty good indication it’s going to be one hell of a party. We will see you there – don’t forget to pre-order here.
