For about ten years now, Germany’s Lilly Legit have held a formidable presence when it comes to piano driven math rock and prog. Their self-titled EP dropped all the way back in 2015, a year that we can barely remember, but to this day the record plays like a great impression of the vague bits we’ve retained. You know, somewhere between nostalgia and catatonia.
Anyway, it’s worth noting that Lilly Legit have stayed incredibly consistent since, with roughly twenty releases under their belt. That’s an hefty number by any measure, yet somehow, today we have the pleasure of premiering what Lilly Legit mastermind Benjamin Guenther calls their “first real music video” for the latest single “Without.”
Simply put, “Without” sees Lilly Legit at their best, with thoughtful yet soaring leads carrying listeners through epic peaks and valleys, but also keeping it under three minutes, making for a succinct, even short-lived adventure that begs for immediate repeats.
Oh, and it also looks great. Check it out below:

The video itself was handled by Lisanne Lehmann, who also did the cover photo for the single, which you can find on Bandcamp here. “Without” is potentially the best sounding LG song to date as well with Sam Kumar Tandon at Rose Quartz Mastering adding a serious shine to everything. Here’s hoping we get to see / hear more soon!
