Joe Scala at Choke Artist is always doing good somewhere, and when it comes to the Your Breath Stinks compilations, in which the label donates the proceeds to Americans for Immigrant Justice, we can’t think of a better thing to be doing.
We’ve been slowly brewing something similar but constantly get in our own way about it, and seeing comps like this, not to mention the legendary series of donation comps from Mathcore Index, helps remind us that it’s not just a good goal – it’s within reach. We just gotta commit and we will. Just gotta start sending those emails…
… but don’t wait for us. Dozens of other folks in the scene from pedal builders to vinyl producers are donating proceeds to organizations like American Institute for Justice, National Immigrant Justice Center, ACLU, and more as we speak. Right now, we just use a couple donation spots locally to drop off food and gas cards, but we know we can do more and we can’t wait to get started.
