1994!

ANNOUNCEMENTS // 1994! TO REUNITE AT TWO PIECE FEST IN PHILADELPHIA THIS FEBRUARY

What even is math, if not a bunch of numbers thrown together in the futile attempt to make sense of things? Well, there are probably better-serving definitions, but today, it doesn’t matter. In 2026 we’re going to be better about announcements and current events, and recently the reunification of 1994! gave us an excuse to… announce that we’re going to cover more announcements.

If you’re looking around a little wide eyed, we totally get it – it’s been a while since the duo dropped something, with their first album released in 2008 via Inkblot Records and their last public appearance allegedly occurring in 2014. But if you’ve heard of Nah, which we know many of you have, he is actually half of 1994!.

Regardless, this ol’ thing ought to help refresh everyone’s memory while beating them upside the head:

You can’t help but inhale that early 2000-and-teens angst the second those shrieking vocals and ululating guitar licks kick in. If you’re nostalgic about early Genghis Tron and/or The Albatross, 1994! scratches that itch, but with sides of Lightning Bolt and Fang Island. Whatever you call it, you can’t ignore it, and if you’re into math rock, it checks almost every box imaginable.

Last week, the band announced that this February 21st they’d be reuniting for Two-Piece Fest in Philadelphia, PA at the Ukie Club, in addition to a stacked bill just a day before at the Ruba Club with Infinity Knives, Edhochuli, and Brian Ennals. East Coasters, you know where to be next month when it happens. Who knows if any of this means we’re going to get a new release from the band, but if that’s the case, we’ll let you know as soon as we hear anything. Finally, some good news.
