For those of you sick of the twiddly-twaddly major chord heavy So-Cal math rock jams; those of you pining for something with a bit more wild kicks, something a bit more off-kilter, something a bit more brash, sit back and hold your horses still. Allow us to introduce Rhode Island instrumental trio Consider Yourself. The band have already been kind enough to release a couple of tracks from their debut album Flesh Grenade ahead of time. Today, we are offering you a third slice of cake.
‘Diddler on the Roof’ is the fifth track from the band’s debut and is an exemplary taster of their prowess. The track opens with fine cuts of emotive math rock akin to TTNG, before slowly unfolding to a nice and sludgy closing breakdown. It’s a track destined for repeated listens, from a band we think you need to keep on your watch-list.
Consider Yourself’s debut album, Flesh Grenade, will be available for purchase from August 22 via their bandcamp page. You can keep up to date with the band via their Facebook page. Consider yourself a’ ‘ome.
