EXCLUSIVE // Gallops performs ‘Shakma’ live at Small Pond studios

What an exciting time it was last year when word rapidly spread that Gallops were going to re-gallop. After a hiatus of four years, the Wrexham band announced not only their valiant return to the stage, but that a new album would also be on the cards. Bronze Mystic, birthed a year following their reunion, proved that the band were at the height of their game, delivering exquisitely crafted instrumental synthedelic rock that went above and beyond ol’ Dr Hardcore of 2012. Since their reunion the band have hit the road head on, playing countless shows, and festivals such as ArcTanGent, Carefully Planned and the 10 year SWN Festival anniversaire. The question is: what’s next?

Here’s a lovely exclusive live session that’ll hold you over while we keep you guessing. ‘Shakma’ is the second track from Bronze Mystic and showcases the band’s flair for imagination, and their exceptional precision and musicianship. Gorgeously shot by our buds at Small Pond, the video reaffirms why Gallops was and is a force within the UK instrumental scene.

Speaking of hitting the road, Gallops will be out touring with heavyweights And So I Watch You Afar next month, so make sure you pop out and have a gander. The dates are:

23/11 – London, Koko
24/11 – Manchester, Academy 2
25/11 – Glasgow, Oran Mor
26/11 – Bristol, Thekla
